We are pleased to announce the official opening of our new office, nestled in the heart of the historic district of Versailles, just a short walk from the Palace.
Located at 10 rue de Fontenay, 78000 Versailles, France, this new office brings us closer to our clients and projects across Île‑de‑France. It is an ideal base for developing restoration and rehabilitation projects — with or without contemporary interventions — applying the Atelier’s defining qualities: high standards, expertise and attention to detail.
Housed in an 18th‑century building, the new architecture office has been shaped in our image. The project transformed former service rooms — a kitchen, laundry and small lodging — into a modern, welcoming workspace while highlighting the building’s heritage character.
The technical and environmental challenges were many and required a bespoke approach:
Integrating underfloor heating beneath traditionally made terracotta tiles to combine modern comfort with period aesthetics.
Insulating with bio‑sourced materials, notably a lime‑and‑cork render, fully compatible with historic substrates and respectful of the existing fabric.
Reinforcing the building’s severely degraded structure to ensure its longevity.
Integrating and concealing the technical systems required for a contemporary office while preserving and enhancing the original 18th‑century proportions and circulation.
Beyond the technical work, this project reflects our coherent approach and our philosophy of “Living with our heritage.”
