Inhabiting our heritage
↓
Our approach
Established in the heart of Versailles since 2020, the practice works primarily on buildings dating from the 17th to 20th centuries, where every architectural detail tells a story. Our ambition: to preserve this heritage while making it liveable for future generations.
Understanding before acting
Every project begins with a phase of listening and analysis: archival research, detailed surveys, understanding successive transformations. What architectural qualities should be revealed? Which elements have been altered and deserve restoration? This in-depth knowledge of the building guides our technical and aesthetic choices, in accordance with traditional craftsmanship and in constant dialogue with the Architectes des Bâtiments de France.
From structure to decoration: a holistic approach
Structural carpentry repairs, restoration of ornamental staff moldings, bespoke joinery, and artistic ironwork: as lead architect and project manager we design each project holistically. This approach ensures a coherent final result — from securing the structure to restoring decorative finishes and discreetly integrating contemporary equipment. We select specialised craftsmen skilled in traditional techniques and oversee the site until handover.
Authentic materials, enduring craftsmanship
Traditional plaster, lime, mineral pigments, local timber: we favour materials proven over centuries. This exacting approach ensures not only aesthetic coherence with the existing fabric, but also its durability and breathability. Restore rather than replace, preserve rather than transform: this is our approach, in service of living heritage.
